August 2022 Newsletter – From the cellar

While waiting for the start of a new harvest, the bottling of the 2019 Barolos was carried out during the summer months. These wines, which will be ready for the market only from next year, are expected to have great texture and character, thanks to a good structure and dense, but refined tannins. This is a classic vintage, which will be able to give great satisfaction.

After the release of the new vintages of Barolo at the beginning of the year, we presented to the market all the latest vintages of the remaining labels in spring.

The only exception: the Langhe Nascetta del Comune di Novello Anas-cëtta 2021 will be ready to make its debut only from September.

Dolcetto d’Alba Mandorlo 2021

Notes of black cherry in evidence are intertwined with scents of plum, berries and rose petals, offering a clear, graceful, and captivating nose. During the tasting you can appreciate an excellent harmony that enhances the drinkability: crisp and fresh on the palate, however, it has a good structure, which is perfectly integrated into the wine. The Dolcetto d’Alba Mandorlo 2021 is a simple but not banal wine, which makes authenticity, essentiality and taste its main peculiarities.

Langhe Nebbiolo Montegrilli 2021

Genuine and sincere, the Langhe Nebbiolo Montegrilli is pure representation of Nebbiolo grape variety. The 2021 vintage contributed to a greater chromatic intensity and an involving and intense olfactory profile, dominated by aromas of strawberry, raspberry and pomegranate, accompanied by floral scents and spicy hints. A breath of fresh air! On the palate it is savory, fresh and incredibly juicy; with a graceful and caressing tannic texture, it shows an excellent nose-mouth correspondence and impresses for a great pleasantness of drinking.

Barbera d’Alba Bricco dei Merli 2020

Engaging and gritty, the Barbera d’Alba Bricco dei Merli 2020 shows intensity and olfactory complexity through fruity aromas of ripe cherry and blackberry, floral notes of violet and spicy hints. Enveloping in the mouth, it is endowed with pulp and structure, but also with great balance, thanks to the acidic vein that refreshes and lightens the sip. We are dealing with a pure and varietal wine, capable of respecting the grape variety of origin, keeping intact its distinctive features and identity.

Barbera d’Alba Pre-phylloxera 2020

Coming from a not grafted vineyard located in the western part of the municipality of La Morra, the 2020 Barbera d’Aba Pre-Phylloxera shows a great olfactory complexity, emitting fruity notes of blackberry and cherry, perfectly balanced by aromas of violet, spices and balsamic scents. The taste is taut, enveloping and satisfying, characterized by fine and delicate tannins, excellent freshness, and a long finish. It is a bright and slender Barbera that knows how to express itself with grace and great elegance.

Barbaresco Bordini 2019

The 2019 Barbaresco Bordini is generous in its olfactory dimension: it offers floral notes, scents of plum and ripe strawberry, alternating with balsamic and peppery hints, for an intriguing and multifaceted aroma. The attack in the mouth is fresh, and savory; the mouthfeel is characterized by firm and elegant tannins. It is a full and tasty wine, refined by notes of rose, violet and spices, which emphasize the long finish.
